I took Chhavi and Vasu to Hong Kong in 2014, their very first international trip! The main attraction was naturally Disneyland! So here is a collective post by Chhavi and I which will cover our trip in parts. This is the airport part and Chhavi goes first!

So, let me take you back to when I was a bright-eyed, seven-year-old traveler. The year was 2014, and there I was, eagerly waiting on my passport to lastly arrive. It was a momentous occasion, and little did I know, it would lead to one of the most funny trips of my life to Hong Kong!

My mother had been patiently awaiting my passport, and as soon as it lastly appeared, she was prepared to blend us away on an interesting journey to Hong Kong. Naturally, she wasn’t going alone. My sibling Vasudha and I were accompanying for the trip. Now, image this, two kids and one determined mama about to take on a worldwide journey. What could fail?

So, off we went to Delhi Airport on August 14, 2014, with our bags packed and a lot of enjoyment in the air. And here comes the enjoyable part! You see, my mother had this really distinct way of describing Vasudha and me. She enjoyed to call us “baggage.” Yes, you heard that right. We were her baggage– her ever-adorable, never-staying-still travel luggage. And kid, was she right about something- we were absolutely problem waiting to occur.

At the airport, we might barely keep our excitement in check, and while Mother attempted her best to get us signed in, we were off doing our thing, running around like little tornadoes. Unfortunately, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t precisely check us in like travel luggage. Picture the scene, 2 kids bouncing around, and Mother simply shaking her head, calling us “luggage” as we caused chaos all around.

Once we finally made it through all the procedures (and, well, ultimately behaved), we made our method to the food court. Now, I know what you’re believing, we were most likely starving after all that airport drama, right? But nope. We stacked our plates with a mountain of food, and yet, we hardly touched it. Typical us! Food was always just a reason to take a seat and have a laugh while our naughty little brains were already planning the next big thing.

Now, let me pass the mic over to my mom, who, in her own words, can inform you more about this crazy experience.

So its Mridula here, the owner of this blog site!

Ah, the airport. I don’t keep in mind much about it other than for the reality that I had 2 kids acting as if they were made of pure mischief. Chhavi and Vasu, or need to I state, my baggage, kept me on my toes the whole time. They didn’t take initiative in anything other than causing mischief.

Yes, me. The only adult. But I did it! And looking back now, I recognize it was both brave and a little ridiculous. But, then that’s what moms do!

And look even after 11 years, we have such a package of memories of our trip to Hong Kong!
