We stayed in The Sanctuary Suite Cabin 14138 on Norwegian Trip for a seven-night cruise. This cabin is located on Deck 14, port side, not too far from The Haven courtyard and lounge. Here is our review.

The Sanctuary cabins themselves differ depending on the ship and suite type. On the Norwegian Trip, Cabin 14138 is one of the former Health club Suites that now falls under The Sanctuary classification. It’s a slightly (not by much) more budget friendly way to stay with Sanctuary perks.
Our Remain In Haven Suite 14138 on Norwegian Vacation
We sailed on Norwegian Vacation in The Haven for the very first time back in 2016, after winning an upgrade. That cruise landed us in a Penthouse Suite on Deck 15, which set the bar quite high.
For our current return, we told our PCC to position us in the most affordable readily available Haven cabin that was still near The Sanctuary correct. That’s how we wound up in Cabin 14138, one of the former Medspa Suites located on Deck 14, port side– easily situated near both The Haven complex and the health club.
Our preferred part about this cabin was the space, the Nespresso machine, our butler and cabin attendant, along with the Sanctuary benefits that came along with it.

"data-src="https://www.tastyitinerary.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/NCL-Getaways-The-Haven-Suite-14138-Cabin.webp"/ > Pin While I’m going to point out a couple of things occasionally, that does not suggest we weren’t comfortable. We absolutely were. This suite worked well for our seven-day cruise, and it had lots of room to expand, much more than we have in our little home back home. Pin
The cabin included a king-sized bed, a couch, a large vanity/desk area, and sufficient closet and drawer space for two people. Near the veranda, there was a small table with a single chair. When we ordered room service, the butler would move the table closer to the sofa to make it much easier to eat. It worked all right, however it felt more like an additional piece of furniture than something genuinely designed for in-room dining.
Throughout from the bed, at the far end of the vanity location, was a dedicated coffee station with a Nespresso machine, espresso and coffee cups, and a tiny fridge tucked below. My husband loved this setup as he’s a caffeine addict and made good usage of it every day.
The king-size bed was definitely more comfy than what we have actually had in standard cabins. That stated, by the time we sailed, it felt like the mattress and sheets were due for an upgrade– not horrible, just a bit worn.
The vanity area was sleek and offered an excellent amount of storage. The television was large, with a solid choice of on-demand films available at no additional charge.
And then there was the corner jacuzzi tub by the window– a holdover from when this was a Health club Suite. It looked nice at first, however it never ever worked effectively. There’s also a column right next to it that felt strangely positioned. It didn’t get in the way precisely, but it did make the layout feel somewhat awkward.
Not the Restroom You ‘d Anticipate in The Sanctuary
When you reserve a Haven suite, you anticipate the restroom to feel a bit more improved. This one didn’t quite satisfy that bar. It had a double sink, a full-size shower, and enough area to move around, but the total feel and look were underwhelming.
The layout and size reminded us of a Vacation mini-suite bathroom– maybe simply a bit larger– however this one felt duller in comparison. The finishes did not have heat, and the lighting didn’t help. It simply didn’t have that polished Haven touch.
We kept thinking back to the Penthouse Suite we stayed in back in 2016, which had a much nicer restroom with a more high end, contemporary ambiance. That’s more of what we ‘d anticipated here.
The L’Occitane items were a great information, however they weren’t enough to elevate the space.
A Wide however Shallow Terrace
The balcony was broad, which was excellent, however it was likewise very shallow– you could not actually extend your legs out unless you were dealing with the other chair. There were two comfy chairs and a small round table, which made it a good spot for coffee and pastries in the early morning or a cocktail at sunset.
That said, the chairs couldn’t truly be turned to face the ocean conveniently, and the lack of depth made it feel a bit confined. I’m not really tall, and I even discovered it tight when attempting to extend. Still, this balcony was larger than a standard veranda cabin, which we valued. And it’s constantly good to have a personal outside area to step into for some fresh air.
Sufficient Storage
There was a lot of storage throughout the cabin, sufficient for 2 individuals. Though a few drawers and cabinets didn’t close quite right, and we were always battling with them.
Electrical Ports in the Cabin
What We Enjoyed (and What We Didn’t) of NCL Vacation Sanctuary Suite 14138
What we liked:
Close to The Haven lounge, yard, and dining establishment
Comfortable king-size bed
Nespresso maker restocked daily
Spacious design with a lot of storage
L’Occitane amenities in the restroom
Enough US outlets (plus one European) for charging devices
Excellent service from our butler and cabin attendant
What could be much better:
The Jacuzzi tub didn’t work effectively
Bathroom felt dull, more like a mini-suite than a Haven suite
Terrace was wide however shallow– very little legroom
Some drawers and cabinets didn’t close properly
No USB ports– bring a hub or multi-plug
Would we remain in this cabin again?
Yes– for the area, the Haven advantages, and if the price is right, it worked well. But if the expense to upgrade to a Yard Haven Penthouse Suite isn’t far more, we ‘d choose that rather. It just feels more like what The Sanctuary is meant to be.
