Starting March 1, 2026, Norwegian Cruise Line visitors will no longer have the ability to use their More at Sea consume package on the cruise line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. The update was shown travel consultants and scheduled guests through a functional notification sent today. Until now, the More at Sea beverage plan, formerly called Free at Sea, permitted guests to delight in beverages both onboard and on the island. That will quickly change.
Norwegian validated that Great Stirrup Cay will have its own beverage package, anticipated to go on sale starting January 1, 2026. The cruise line has not yet shared details or pricing for the brand-new island-specific bundle.
Guests will still be able to enjoy the normal complimentary beverages on Terrific Stirrup Cay of water, iced tea, and juices.

Terrific Stirrup Cay is currently undergoing a multi-phase change that includes a brand-new multi-ship pier, a heated pool with swim-up bars, and the upcoming Great Tides Waterpark. The six-acre waterpark will include 19 slides, a lazy river, cliff jumps, and a splash location for kids when it opens in summer 2026.
“As we look to change the on-island experience, we have examined our policies and made the decision that shipboard beverage plans will no longer be applicable for drinks on Fantastic Stirrup Cay,” the representative stated.
Many cruisers expressed frustration online, calling it another reduction in included advantages after Norwegian recently introduced brand-new fees for additional main dining-room entrées and no-show penalties for specialty dining establishments. Others acknowledged that similar policies are currently in location at other cruise lines’ private locations.
