, its private island in the Bahamas, with a significant expansion led by the new Great Tides Waterpark, set to open in summer 2026. The almost six-acre waterpark will feature 19 waterslides, including a 170-foot Tidal Tower, two of the island’s tallest drops, and a family slide that fits up to 4 riders.
The Great Tides Waterpark will be a paid experience with a single admission fee that covers all of its tourist attractions. Cabanas and other premium add-ons will be available for an additional charge.
An industry-first cliff-jumping zone with 10 and 15-foot platforms will include a lot more thrills. A much faster “vibrant river” will wind through a brightened grotto, lined with cabanas and a swim-up bar.
Younger cruisers will have their own space at Tidepool Town, a 9,000-square-foot splash area with eight mini slides and a 40-foot tipping container.
Beyond the waterpark, Norwegian is transforming the island itself. A new pier will finally enable 2 ships to dock at once, getting rid of the requirement for tenders– a change regular visitors have actually been waiting for.
The expansion also consists of the Great Life Lagoon, a massive heated pool with two swim-up bars, personal cabanas, and a family backyard. Other additions include the adults-only Vibe Coast Club, Horizon Park with pickleball courts and mini-golf, Hammock Bay with
more than 50 hammocks, and even a Jet Karts Water Track that combines the experience of go-karts and jet skis. These modifications are created to support a sharp boost in visitors, with Norwegian intending to almost double the number of visitors checking out Terrific Stirrup Cay by 2026.
On our last check out, we remained in one of the Lagoon Villas in Silver Cove, a private side of the island. With these brand-new upgrades, Great Stirrup Cay will use a lot more methods to enjoy a day on the island.
