Middle East and Africa was the only world region to show a decrease in general hotel pipeline activity at the end of the second quarter, according to CoStar’s June 2025 pipeline information.

Europe

  • In building and construction: 171,503 rooms (+3.4%)
  • Final Planning: 74,922 rooms (-19.7%)
  • Preparation: 185,311 spaces (+15.4%)
  • Overall Under Agreement: 431,736 (+2.9%)

The UK led the region in overall spaces in building (24,711), closely followed by Germany (23,400).

Asia Pacific

  • In building and construction: 523,672 spaces (+4.0%)
  • Last Preparation: 41,705 spaces (-54.3%)
  • Planning: 391,877 spaces (+21.0%)
  • Overall Under Contract: 957,254 (+4.2%)

Amongst nations in the area, China (318,327) led in building and construction activity, followed by India (40,950) and Vietnam (36,338).

Middle East & Africa

  • In building: 103,115 spaces (-5.4%)
  • Last Preparation: 21,731 spaces (-34.2%)
  • Planning: 94,391 spaces (+13.7%)
  • Overall Under Agreement: 219,237 (-2.6%)

The majority of the area’s pipeline activity is focused in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia (46,015) and the United Arab Emirates (16,271) have the most rooms in building.

Americas

  • In building and construction: 189,102 spaces (-9.3%)
  • Final Planning: 303,528 spaces (+1.5%)
  • Preparation: 410,322 rooms (+6.4%)
  • Overall Under Contract: 902,952 (+1.1%)

The U.S. (138,922) holds most of spaces in building and construction in the region. After the U.S., Mexico (14,562), Canada (9,128), and Brazil (5,334) reveal the greatest variety of rooms in construction.
