One rain and the night turns from fun to practically disaster, here is Chhavi’s account of our adventure at Atmosphere shopping mall when rain came on July 9 in Gurgaon! Over to Chhavi!
On July 9 my mom and I chose to take a simple coffee trip to Atmosphere Shopping mall. Sounds simple, right? Well, it became rather the tiny experience!
We left home around 3.00 pm, it was a brilliant, warm day. At the shopping mall, Mama bought her normal coffee, and I chose something a little various, a revitalizing raspberry iced tea. Oh, and we couldn’t resist a cinnamon roll to share, the best combination!
While drinking our beverages, I was busy producing some YouTube Shorts, and Mom was doing her own thing, most likely outlining her next concept. After ending up, we wandered around the shopping center, taking in the sights and noises. We did some browsing but purchased nothing, due to the fact that mommy constantly plays the trump card, do you want to invest it now or save and take a trip later? Well, how can I say no to a journey?
A few hours later, cravings struck again, so we headed to the food court on the 3rd flooring. Mother got some tea, and I treated myself to momos, because who can withstand momos?
Then came the emphasize: pizza time! We found an area at Pizza Express, bought a tasty pizza and some beverages. Mother selected a mysterious “devil’s drink” (whatever that implies), and I stuck to my reliable raspberry slushy. We were gladly digging into food, when mama’s phone called.
It was my father called with a caution: “It’s putting outside, go out quickly” We completed our food quickly and hurried to Gate 4 to reserve a cab and head home, only to find a crowd of individuals likewise trapped by the rain, all attempting to book cabs. Spoiler alert: no luck.
At 8.30 pm we started searching for cabs, first normally and then anxiously. After an hour of constant attempting our phone batteries started to run low, mine at 3%, Mother’s dead. Fortunately, Mom had her charger in her bag (clever relocation!). We managed to charge our phones at an ice cream kiosk. It was magnificent good of them to let mama charge her phone without any fuss!
We kept trying various areas, different gates, for a cab, however the rain wasn’t letting up, and neither were the crowds. The night went on, and finally at 9.45 pm, I called Father to do something. He handled to reserve a cab with a regional taxi stand. But as there was waterlogging and turmoil all over the city, the cab was going to spend some time to get here.
So we wandered inside the shopping center however then we got tired. We found some uninhabited seats and sat in a corner. The shop in front was about to shut. We saw a storekeeper struggle to close the shutter as it was probably malfunctioning. The shutter closed slowly inch by inch and we were left questioning, what will take place first? Will the shutter decrease or our cab would get here? The shop won, in about thirty minutes, the shutter decreased but our taxi was still some distance away.
Finally at 10.55 pm our big comfortable cab was there, at Gate 3 of the Environment Shopping center, with a really courteous chauffeur! I can’t keep in mind when I was so delighted to see a taxi show up. It took us one hour to reach home, however hey, we were lastly home secure!
So yes, an easy coffee trip developed into a full-on rain adventure. Now that we are home, it looks like experience, but when we were going through it, it was not.
When I asked mama what would she do if we did not get a cab at all, she said she would go the hotel attached to shopping center, swipe her card and book a room for us! Well, you can rely on mother, to think of whatever!
If you are wondering why daddy didn’t pertain to choose us up? Well, we have a small cars and truck, if he took it out on that rainy night on the waterlogged streets, there would be three people stranded, mommy and I in the shopping mall and papa somewhere on the roadway!
