Often referred to as the ‘Venice of the East’, the lake city of Udaipur, is a major tourist attraction in India.
The Hotel Udaigarh is ideally located for visitors to this unique city.
This is a beautifully restored 150 year old Haveli, but still with remnants of the past, visible in the decorative furnishings and doors throughout the resort.

Rooms are very modern, and with all the conveniences one would expect, in a more luxurious boutique hotel.

Haveli is generic term used for a traditional townhouse and mansions in India, Pakistan,
Nepal and Bangladesh usually one with historical and architectural significance.
You couldn’t ask for a more ideal location, with a stunning view of Pichola Lake and the beautiful; Lake Palace.
Located in the popular tourist zone, there’s an abundance of; shops, restaurants and attractions, all within minutes walk from the hotel.
There’s so much to see and do, during your stay in Udaipur!

The Beautiful Lake Palace
The Lake Palace was formerly named {Jag Niwas Palace} and was mainly a summer palace.
Built between the years 1743 and 1746 it is the most popular attraction in the city, is now a luxury hotel, with boat access only.

What also makes this property so unique is their roof-top swimming pool and restaurant, offering breathtaking views and sunsets of Pichola Lake, the Old City and the surrounding;
Aravalli mountain ranges.
This heritage resort is also just a few minutes walk to the historic City Palace and just minutes walk, to the water’s edge to the; Ghats.
There’s also a small pedestrian bridge, which will take you across the lake. A perfect place to enjoy a walk, and the beautiful surrounding scenery.
You are also just minutes from where you can catch a daily; sunset boat tour.

In typical fashion of a boutique hotel, there are just 19 rooms to choose from, making your stay more peaceful and relaxing.
You have a choice of a;
Standard, Heritage Deluxe or Royal Super Deluxe Heritage Room,
all with; Air Conditioning and many other special amenities.
Rooms usually come with breakfast included as well depending on your booking.

All nineteen rooms have full private bathrooms with hot showers.
Each guest room is uniquely designed with a blend of handsome antique and refurbished furniture, made from recycled wood and textiles.
All made from recycled wood, textiles in the vibrant colors of Rajasthan, and handpicked objects d’art.
As well, all rooms offer television and bottled water, for your convenience.

All Heritage rooms include;
en-suite bathrooms (with shower), air-conditioning, television and more.
During our stay, free wi-fi was available in our room and throughout the hotel, with a good connection!
The Udaigarh Heritage Hotel is located in the Old City, with its narrow streets and alleyways. The hotel can only be reached by auto rickshaw.
However, I did see a small taxis coming up, within a few yards of the front door.
As well and because this is a unique heritage hotel, there is no elevator and no power back up.
Also, because of its historic location with limited access, there is no private parking available.
Staff will direct you to a nearby {City Parking Lot}, for those arriving by car.

During my stay, I enjoyed breakfast each morning, on the hotel’s rooftop. There’s a wide selection of entrees to choose from on their menu.
I also had dinner on a few occasions as well, and found the meals to be; freshly cooked and very tasty.
I particularly enjoyed their traditional Indian dishes.
Not to mention, the view is to die for, especially while dining at sunset!

using organically grown, locally sourced ingredients. “
I thoroughly enjoyed my time and stay here. I found the staff to be very friendly and eager to assist in any way they could, to make my stay as enjoyable as can be.
I would certainly not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone visiting Udaipur, looking for an affordable, and well-appointed boutique hotel.
It definitely is in my opinion, one of the Best Udaipur Historic Heritage Hotels, in the city.
