The New Children’s Museum Downtown San Diego Day Out The New Kid’s Museum San Diego is spread out throughout three open floorings with a number of interactive art installations and hands-on family activities. Among the top things to do in San Diego with kids, there are numerous excellent opportunities for enjoyable and creativity at this brilliant children’s museum.
There is an outside patio with locations for delighting in painting and developing with clay, together with a new outside experience in the Museum Park providing more activities and chances to make art. I extremely recommend going to if you are preparing a family vacation in San Diego.

Wobbleland The New Kid’s Museum is a great place to check out with kids, offering fun,

spaces with other kids. Paint Studio The outside patio area of the children’s museum features a fantastic paint studio. When we visited, there was a covered

dry clay sculptures in the sun. Innovators Laboratory The Innovators Lab at the New Kid’s Museum is geared towards families with kids aged 7-13. The children museum’s Creative Group works with regional artists and professionals from different fields– consisting of designers and engineers– to develop skill-building tasks that explore real life issues.
Subjects have included buoyancy and electricity, and a present project explores balance and includes establishing and shaping your own spinning top out of wax.
The Rain House The vibrant Rain Home is an imaginative space where children can explore and play like they might on a rainy day in your home– total with the mild sounds of raindrops in the room.

Missing out on Link
The Missing out on Link is a 30-foot inflatable rainbow-striped tunnel that kids will delight in running, bouncing or rolling through! This vibrant job was created by artist Felipe Dulzaides for Animal Art, the New Children’s Museum’s 2009 exhibition.
Car-a-0ake The Car-a-oake sculpture– a replica of the artist’s 1984 Mercedes Benz he bought when he moved to California– has a radio and microphone inside to highlight your inner dashboard super star, vocalizing tunes like no one is seeing.
This installation questioned the result that the automobile has on Californians, who each spend an
average of 90 hours a year in traffic. Cardboard Turmoil Exactly what it says on the tin! Essentially loads of cardboard and material which were perfect for building forts and a lot more.
Desert Derby Vehicles with a curved track to walk around on– the Desert Derby was particularly popular and an area we invested a great deal of time in! I was interested to learn that the art setup was influenced by the California aqueduct, a 700-mile-long pipeline and engineering accomplishment that delivers water from Northern to Southern California. The blue shape in the center, blocked in with the dam, represents a reservoir to shop water.
Although Southern California’s natural supply of water can support only 2 million individuals, over 23 million individuals can live there thanks to the California aqueduct. It’s truly an engineering phenomenon, however, Southern Californians know more about the area’s highways than their waterways.
There were a number of more studios and installations I haven’t covered here, together with a library and gown up box downstairs.
This dazzling children’s museum in San Diego Downtown caters so well to the whole household. It’s not surprising that all the regional San Diego mamas I satisfied are yearly members at the New Children’s Museum. It’s a place we would certainly go back to on our next family vacation in San Diego!

Advance appointments are not required. Tickets can be purchased as a walk-up or online for any day the New Kid’s Museum San Diego is open.
Tickets: Adult tickets (18+) are $24 and kids 1+ tickets are $20.00. Children under 1 go free; elders (65+), educators and military w/ ID pay $20.
