Quite late I decided to go to Katowice and assistance Slovenian team on Eurobasket 2025. I got ticket from Nomago (90EUR). I organized myself trip with train and stopover in Brno. On arrival to Katowice I met Andrej and his pals for lunch. I strolled to arena Spodek with Ivo and his buddies (one was Aleksander Javornik). In front arean normal entertainment for fans. I had seat behind basket in fourth row. Better would be less expensive seat in greater row as interior is rather flat.
Very first seconds were bad, 3 points for France and nasty for Dončić. However that changed rapidly and Slovenia was soon in lead. Main tactics was to give ball to Dončić. He will run forward and rating or secure free toss after faul on him. Most of other players didn’t gave enough, other than Edo Murić.
Luka was keeping Slovenia in lead, but one could see he was tired in middle of 3rd quarter. In last couple of minutes he could not performe anymore and France got wings with Francisco. In last seconds gamers on both sides stopped playing, shoke hands and then Francisco scored. That was asshole move, that triggered a great deal of commotion. It resultate in 15 minutes hold-up, couple of technical fauls and 3pointer by Prepelič in last 2nd.
Final rating was Slovenia vs France 95:103. France was worthy of to win as Slovenia had simply one, perhaps 2 gamers on court. When it comes to atmosphere, it was terrific. Slovenian fans were louder and kept going even when our group was loosing. Francisco left bad taste with his relocation. The entire experience was good, a bit pricy and a bit time consuming however I enojed it.
