It was an easy Saturday, not doing much. At night, I saw that there was a biking occasion in Komenda where I could witness the greatest of his generation perform in the house. On my way, I stopped at a gasoline station; the road was empty, and parking was organized by hypodrome. I got here when the female race was in the last few laps.
Komenda I found a place near to the phase; it was crowded (probably 10.000 people), but my height was enough to see over a couple of lines of viewers in front of me. Race was 35 laps of a 1km long track with a count of sprint results every 5 laps. At the start, there were more than 40 participants, besides Pogačar likewise huge names as Mezgec, Trentin, Mohorič, Finkšt, Sivakov, and Govekar.
At the start line, they had a bend, animator, … Individuals cheered for all bicyclists from the starting to the end. Soon the sun was not shining into my eyes and I could take pleasure in the atmosphere. I saw Pogačar pass me 35 times in less than an hour, more than you could see him in 21 days on Trip the France. Pogačar began slowly, but in the end he won the home revial race.
People from around the circuit concerned the phase to witness medal awards and start the event. I left after the ceremony. Now it was a traffic congestion getting out of Komenda; organizers must find a solution for it next year. Great night, witnessing a sports occasion and the champ of the sport in a home environment.
