9. Order some smothered, topped, peppered, and spread hash browns at the world’s most costly Waffle Home. After Hurricane Katrina, the Biloxi Waffle House at 618 Beach Blvd was rebuilt at a substantial price tag to conform to modified security protocol requirements.

10. Visit the poignant Hurricane Camille Memorial— next to the above Waffle Home– and then walk 5 minutes to the Hurricane Katrina Memorial on Biloxi Town Green. While here, stroll Biloxi Downtown and go to some of the in your area owned small companies, shops, and art galleries.

11. Discover the vibrant regional Mardi Gras history at Coastal Mississippi Mardi Gras Museum. Did you understand that the very first Mardi Gras in the New World (in 1699) may have been across the bridge in Ocean Springs?

12. Walk the premises of Old Biloxi Cemetery and observe the remarkable burial art dating back to the 1800’s. George Ohr, the “Mad Potter of Biloxi,” is amongst the noteworthy Biloxi residents buried here. There is also a Biloxi National Cemetery close by for departed United States military veterans.

20. White Pillars is my preferred Biloxi restaurant. Chef Austin Sumrall received James Beard elections for Best Chef in US South in 2025 and 2020. Appreciate his extraordinary shrimp & grits, duck fries, pork stubborn belly, seafood tower, and more. If they have regional French Hermit oysters, get them! The lovely classic walnut design in the White Pillars bar was salvaged from a Chicago hotel.
